I loved day 4's, because it was just what I had been going thru this week. Kevin and I love Nascar, and usually go to every Texas race. We decided not to go this year, we had soccer games all weekend and with me keeping Grayson it was just going to be hard. On Wen. I remembered I had commited to being a hostess at a wedding shower at the church, and we had the pot luck. Then Kevin found out he had 2 meetings at the church on Sunday back to back. We both knew that we wouldn't get home at least 4:00 on Sunday, then small groups at our house at 5:00. I even made a stupid comment to Kevin saying I didn't think it was suppose to be this hard to serve God. Satan saw it all building up. He knew how to tempt us from doing God's work, and he did. After class on Wed. night our adoptive collage kid offered us 2 tickets for the Nascar Sunday race "FOR FREE!" I was so proud of us for turning them down. Sunday everything went off without at hitch and that night, even though we were tired Kevin and I both felt a peaceful excitement.

God is so good, and when things get tough and satan tempts us, we need to remember God is right beside us, just be still and listen!

Giving up something that is in your control... We have a tendency to spend much time on the computer, watching TV, listening to music, and playing the Playstation when we need to be focusing more on building our own relationships within the family. We are working on turning off the TV, putting down the computers, and filling our evenings and weekends doing activities as a family. Over the last year or so, we have gotten out of these routines. We used to have dinners around the table, took family trips to the Zoo (and other places), and worked hard at finding ways to spend time together as a family. This has went by the wayside over the last several months. We are now dealing with issues that may have been headed off if we would have stayed in those routines.
